For many years, US Kids golf has been the market leader worldwide in junior golf equipment, their products are well designed, sensibly prices and distributed worldwide. US Kids golf dominance of the junior golf equipment has not been seriously tested though competition on the market are equally well designed with a good distribution networks. That is now changing, not because of something the competition is doing right or something US Kids golf has done wrong but because of the current economic climate.

Over the last 18 months or so, the British pound sterling has lost about 30% of its value against the USD,  this has made imported junior golf equipment like the US Kids much more expensive, this is making consumers and distributors look at alternatives.

One such alternate is home grown junior golf equipment range from Meridian golf. Formed in 1996 in Sussex, England, Meridian golf has quickly become the market leading supplier of customised junior golf equipment. Following lengthy R&D with the help of the Wolfson School of Engineering at Loughborough University, it was evident there was gap in the equipment market for bespoke junior golf products.

Many of the products on the market  including junior golf bags , golf sets , Drivers where not suitable for their target audience – so it was armed with this knowledge that the Meridian range was born.   Meridian were the first company to produce stainless steels club heads for juniors, use graduated head weights, eight different shaft construction bases and three different size grips all accordingly to age.

The old industry ‘one size fits all’ mentality was blown away over night. While our competitors were producing alloy drivers we were producing stainless steel for juniors. We were first to introduce much-coveted technology used in adult clubs to the junior game. Meridian are the only junior equipment manufacturer to use eight different shaft constructions with flexes and torques differing according to age. using three different size grips for continuity of feel for growing hands.

Meridian offer the most comprehensive range equipment in junior golf with a variety of lofts All shafts and grips are custom matched accordingly to age. 280cc drivers maximise distance for junior golfers.
Matching headcovers as standard. Golf Bags Meridian offers the ultimate bespoke junior golf bags. Manufactured from 600 denier nylon for strength and durability along with ripstock
colour material for added strength and style. All bags incorporate a twin shoulder strap and alloy stand, rain hood and multiple pockets.

The size of golf courses are well known to be enormous, I don’t know if being able to find your way around labyrinth like golf course is part of the game, I have a strong felling its not, in that case using GPS to find your way around is not cheating.
When GPS was first introduced to golfing a few year back it cost hundreds of pounds, that was because you buy both the hardware and the software. This days that most golf players have smart phone there is not need to buy a GPS hardware, all you need to do is upload the Golf cours map GPS software to your smartphone and that is it.  This has reduced the cost of golf GPS system from costing about £499 or so when it first hit the market to costing just £29 now.

One of the most popular GPS software solution is one called CaddyAid Mobile, it boasts of the following features:

Automated Readouts
Using its GPS capabilities, the CaddyAid cursor follows you around the golf course showing your exact location on the course and your distance (front and carry) to all the key points such as the green, bunkers, trees, ditches and ponds.

Width of Fairway
It can tell you the width of any fairway, the distance between bunkers and the length of the greens, helping you to improve your game and reduce your handicap!

Distance to the Pin
Your distance to the pin is displayed by simply touching the pin position on the screen.
Distance to your favourite Lay Up By the touch of a button, CaddyAid will show you the exact distance to your favourite lay up shot, giving you the best opportunity to get down in two!

Lines to Key Points
Especially useful on doglegs, this CaddyAid feature identifies all key points on the hole. Combined with the high quality aerial photograph, you can easily determine which direction the ball needs to be played.

Key Features
Download GPS Data over 2654 courses available in the UK & European courses will be ready from January 2009 onwards
