In case of sickness and serious health issue, the health insurance company pays all the fees and covers the expense incurred while the treatment. The amount of money paid by the company in the health treatment is known as coverage, which varies from policy to policy. The insurance policy of every company is different and their coverage level is also different according to the policy purchased.

Some of the policies do no cover all the costs and asks the individual to cover a bit of expense. If the medical insurance policy is unreliable, it can be very risky. Some of the health insurance policies are very affordable and costs less. This is especially for those people who are not willing to give more money and are not willing to rely fully on the insurance company with a large sum of their money.

As all insurance policies vary with each other, so the medical insurance program has to be first ensured whether it will cover the cost of the medicines prescribed or not. If the medical cost the company is paying is sufficient and covers the expense of medicine prescribed then it is better to purchase the policy.

2. Medical costs and other tests:
A medical insurance policy should also cover the yearly cost of physical examinations, health tests and other screening costs. The cost of routinely immunizations should also be covered. Sometimes it so happens that the relation of the costs is covered equally both by the patient and the company. This helps both the individual and the company to share the medical costs incurred.

3. Services that are outpatient:
Some medical consultations and visits do not require a stay and only requires the one hour consultancy with the doctor. Before buying a policy, it should be ensured that the policy offers this service and owns up to the cost incurred. The cost incurred include costs like facility costs, supplies cost that a patient require during treatment.
